Settings

The Settings menu item sets numerous defaults for pictures as well as the addition of new pictures.

It is divided into two sections:

  • Various settings
  • Setting the background colour

Picture Type for Added BMP Files - sets which type BMP or DIB files are when they are added to the Stock List.  For more details about transparency, see the Keyboard Shortcuts section.

Type for Added Pictures - sets the colour coded Type when new pictures are added to the Stock List:

Way for Added Pictures - sets the pathway of new pictures are added to the Stock List:

Author of Added Pictures - sets the default author of new pictures added to the Stock List.  This dialogue's appearance is dependent on other program settings.

Set Selected Author as Default - the author of the currently selected picture is set as the author for all pictures added to the Stock List.

Set 'Used' for Added Pictures - sets the 'used' attribute for all pictures added to the Stock List.

Type for Modified Pictures - automates the Type when pictures are modified.  The change is set by way of the following submenu:

Standard Library - gives one the ability to set a *.TVL library as the standard library.

No Standard Library - clears any standard library settings.

Default Version - sets the default for a version prefix:

New Pictures to Stock List Directory - if new pictures are added to the Stock List, their source files are copied into the same directory that the Stock List resides in.

Backup on Save - before the save process begins, a safety backup of the un-edited file is made.  This file has the identical name, but with the _BAK suffix.

Set 'Used' When Dragging to Timetable - if a picture is dragged to the Timetable Editor, the 'used' attribute is turned on automatically.

Strip Version When Dragging to Timetable - if a picture is dragged to the Timetable Editor, the version information is stripped from its name.

Background Colour ... - allows one to select the colour for the background of the Stock List file and the screen on which the trains run.
